30 DAYS OF PRAYER FOR SHIFT

When Ezra returned with those who had been in exile, he proclaimed a fast in order to seek direction from the Lord.  Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions. –                Ezra 8:21

When Judah was faced with attacks from three enemies, Jehoshaphat proclaimed a fast throughout Judah and prayed: O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” –                             II Chronicles 20:12

In Acts 13, leaders of the church joined in a time of worshiping the Lord and fasting. It was during this season of seeking the Lord that the Holy Spirit said: “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”  Then, having fasted and prayed, and having laid hands on them, they sent them away.

In times of crisis and in times of critical decision-making, God’s people have humbled themselves for seasons of fasting and prayer in order to seek the blessing and will of God.

MISSIONARY CHURCH CALL TO PRAYER: JUNE 8 – JULY 8

SHIFT, the biennial conference of the Missionary Church, is a time for pastors and delegates to come together to conduct the business of the denomination. Prior to those meetings we are calling the church to a season of 24/7 prayer.

  • What might the Lord want to say to us during these 30 days?
  • What might He want to do during our time together in Fort Wayne?
  • In what areas do we need to experience renewal/revival?
  • In what areas do we need to be challenged?
  • What direction do we need from the Lord as we look to the future?
  • How does God want to prepare your heart and the hearts of others who will be attending?

You can sign up to be a part of the 24/7 prayer covering by following this link: https://www.mcusa.org/prayforshift/. There is also a prayer guide that you can download.

Whether you are able to attend SHIFT or not, you can be a part of what God does at conference by committing to a time of prayer. Let’s look with anticipation toward what God will do during this 50th anniversary of the Missionary Church.
