  • Special Conference to elect the District Superintendent
    • Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Zion Missionary Church, Elkhart
    • Registration will begin at 9:15am and the conference will start at 10:00am
  • Keller Park Missionary Church has confirmed their next pastoral leadership team. Dr. David Cramer and Carrie Badertscher will serve together in this capacity. David will be the Teaching Pastor and will focus on preaching and teaching, small group leadership, and pastoral care. Carrie will be the Community Pastor and will focus on working with families, children, youth, and pastoral care.
  • Congratulations to Pastor Christian Brenner (St. Mark Missionary) and Pastor Glenn Snapp (Lockwood Community) on receiving their credentials.
  • Annual Reports: denominational reports are due by February 15 for all credentialed ministers and can be found HERE. District reports are also due on February 15 for all senior pastors and can be found HERE.

  • MCNCD Ladies Weekend Retreat will be held on February 24-26 at the Farmstead Inn in Shipshewana. There are 1, 2 or 3 day options available. This year their speaker will be Shari Minke. Shari is an inspirational speaker, Bible teacher, author, dramatist and humorist. Workshops will include couponing, iPhone tips and tricks, adult coloring, and scarf making.   • Access 2017– The North Central District Pastors’ Prayer Retreat, will be held at Amigo Centre in Sturgis, Michigan, March 27-28. Rev. Tom Swank, Missionary Church National Prayer Coordinator, will be our resource person to lead our retreat. This is a wonderful opportunity to “unplug” from ministry for a 24 hour period to be with your colleagues in ministry in the presence of the Lord. Cost for the retreat is $30 per person.   • Center for Congregations is holding a variety of workshops in February and March. We invite you to click HERE to check out their website to find more information. These workshops have proven to be very helpful with our district pastors and staff!
  • Moody Theological Seminary has received outside funding for a new tuition free, fully accredited, MA degree in Urban Ministry, with a focus on Cross-Cultural Ministry. They created it with our Devon Oasis in mind and they only have one seat available for Fall 2017. In addition to seminary studies, the student would work alongside Rev. Bob Andrews at Devon Oasis as an intern for the entire two-year program. Contact Bob Andrews at [email protected] for information on how to apply for this opportunity.
  • The Missionary Church Historical Society would like to fill their next special issue of Reflections with stories of God’s miraculous work among us. Both historical stories and also new ones. Diane Howard shares, “We hope to include a variety of pieces- from brief anecdotes (250+ words), to longer autobiographical narratives (2000+ words), to formal historical or theological research essays (5000+ words). Submissions are welcome from first-time authors as well as seasoned scholars for the next six months.   • Sympathy to Norma Daniels (wife of Rev. Charles Daniels)- Rev. Charles passed away on Sunday, January 15 at his home. Please remember Norma and their family in your prayers during this difficult time.
  • Please keep Dr. Gordon Bacon in your prayers as he grieves the loss of his wife, Phyllis Bacon. Phyllis passed away at Hubbard Hill on January 16.
  • Sympathy to Bob and Linda Loar (Solid Rock). Linda’s father passed away on Tuesday, January 24. Please remember Linda and her family in your prayers as they grieve.
  • Rev. Ken Chupp (Warsaw) reports that his wife, Diane, is back in the hospital due to kidney complications and her abdomen filling up with fluid. He asks that we pray that her numbers will stabilize and she can go home. Also, pray that God will heal the cancer!
