The Missionary Church USA designed the Pastoral Leadership Institute (PLI) for second-career people – mature adults who want to be equipped for vocational, bi-vocational, or volunteer ministry.  The convenience, flexibility, and financial economy of studying online from home allows anyone to be trained in the essentials of ministry and gain the necessary educational qualifications for licensing in the Missionary Church.

For more information see the PLI Website.

A Hispanic version is available and is known as ILP: el Instituto para el Liderazgo Pastoral.  Contact [email protected] for more information.

The Western Region of the Missionary Church has the WR Pastoral Institute.

The Pastoral Leadership Institute has been modified to serve various local needs.  Allentown, PA has an on-site Spanish version.

In Hawaii the Pastoral Leadership Institute classes are provided locally and can be joined via video links.  Contact the Regional Director of the Pacific Rim for more details.

Licensing and ordination are significant events in the life of a pastor and the church body he/she serves.  The Missionary Church encourages its pastors to pursue both licensing and ordination and their personal development in continuing education.

Your leadership in the network of which you are a part will have details on how to become licensed.  Below is some information that is used by a number of these networks, all of which follow the Missionary Church Constitution which has licensing requirements listed in Appendix 1.

Here are two additional resources for you to help in the credentialing process.
