World Partners Regional Strategy Coordinator for Latin America, Nat Brown, was in Honduras from November 8-13. Nat reflects on his time there as follows:

“At the invitation of a group called “Ministerio Oasis de Amor” [MOA] in Honduras led by Apostle Marco Aurelio Martinez Barahona, I along with Pastor Héctor Soto of the Deluth, Georgia Missionary Church, and Pastor José Luis Salgado, President of the Missionary Church of Nicaragua, were able to visit Honduras from November 8 -12.

Pastor Marco had made contact with Generate through José Méndez, Pastor Gladys in Houston, and Pastor Héctor in Georgia. He is the founder and leader of the work in Honduras and over the last few years has sensed a desire to find an international group that he can join with. There are seventeen churches and outreach points in three regions surrounding three major cities: Tegucigalpa, La Ceiba and Comayagua.

At this time the plan is to allow Marco and his leaders to pray about all that was discussed and then we will meet again April 4-6, 2019. At that time, if they decide to form the Missionary Church of Honduras, a future date will be chosen for a special celebration.

This is a good group and they have done so much on their own. However, they have felt that they needed something more. As we were able to talk of disciple-making and of the Lord’s work in other areas of the world it really spoke to them. With great emotion they asked us to come and work with them in this area. We assured them that even if they did not join the Missionary Church we would be very honored to come and teach them what we know about making disciples who multiply for the glory of the Father.”
